Get My Mess Organized

Ahhh...the question that most of us scattered artsy fartsy people ask ourselves daily...why am I not organized?  We have many reason as to why we are not.  Too busy, our brains are constantly swirling with new creative ideas.  We want to tackle so much at once that there is no room to organize.  The list goes on.  However, as we all know getting our art stuff organized does help us to be more creative and free thinkers.  A mess can distract a brilliant mind like ours.  So this post is dedicated to all things for organizing our scattered lives in our studios.  If you have a clever or unique way you keep your clutter in control, leave a comment.  Passing on information helps all us to become better designers!

Unique items around the home are great to use for storage and help you two fold...you are using an item from your home (thus not bringing in new clutter) and two your taking your clutter and organizing it with old clutter.  For instance use mason jars to store embellishments, loose ribbons or yarn, buttons, rhinestones, etc.  Use a candy dish to hold onto random craft items (embellishments, jewelry findings, gems, etc.).  Take a peg board and hang tools, inspiration pieces, necklaces, bracelets, and strands. There are so many things you can do keep all of your special projects and their components organized...use your imagination!

A Very Martha Thanksgiving

It is no secret that Martha Stewart is one of THE premier hostesses out there today.  From her simple yet beautiful DIY decorations to her delectable recipes...there is so much one can do just from her books, websites, magazines, and products.  This Thanksgiving is dedicated to her and all her work in putting together the most delicious and gorgeous dinner!

A lot of these recipes I have made myself for past Thanksgivings. I always buy a fresh turkey and I always use this brine.  My turkey's come out full of juice!!!

Winter Photos

Winter is right around the corner, and for some of you it has already left its mark.  Glistening snow, cold winter nights, and sparkling frost bitten skies are a reminder of how beautiful nature is this time of year.  I often like the idea of switching out photos within the home for each season.  And, for some reason winter photos are my favorite.  Here are some beautiful shots of winter scenes that I found on Etsy shops.  Below is the a link to the shop for each of the photos. Enjoy!

Tribute to the Cake Pop!

Cake pops have made their way into our hearts...from the beautiful appearance to their sweet taste.  If you have never had one, I encourage you to try.  My first came from Starbucks..the Birthday Cake Pop.  One bite and I was addicted.  They are simple to make and are always a hit of the party.  Here are some design inspirations that I have found.  If you do not consider yourself a baker, you can always order them from your local bakery or online (I recommend bakers from Etsy).
