Home Office Organization

I decided to tackle one room at a time on organization.  I have searched the web looking for new and interesting ways to get the home organized.  My focus was trying to use inexpensive items, make them look trendy, and stay within a meaningful budget.  You would be surprised at the number of amazing items out there that can be recreated into functional organization.  Today we focus on the home office.  A haven for bills, work related materials, sometimes arts and craft central as well.  Keeping this space organized and functional can sometimes be a problem.  Relax, take a deep breath and read on to see what I think is the best way to keep your sanity in this space.

Dish Drain File Storage

Who would of thought that a dish drain could be multi functional?  With virtually endless options and styles to chose from there is sure to be one that fits your decor style and budget!
Mobile Office

From brand new carts ranging from $25 to $100 to thrift store or garage sale finds, you can turn a anything into a mobile workspace.  Splash on some paint or contact paper and you have a trendy new and fresh piece that is sure make your space more functional.
Mailbox Storage

You local hardware or big box store will have ample designs and price points for you to choose from.  Spray paint your box and add some decorative decals to give it your own personal touch.
Weekly Clothespin Schedule

This is a very inexpensive way to keep your appointments and to do's in an orderly fashion.  Just grab some clothes pins, strong wire, and labels...affix your wire to the wall and you have an easy way to showcase what is in store for the week.
Tiered Storage
French baskets are not only beautiful but functional.  Ribbon, scrap fabrics, buttons, and loose items can easily be stored in these versatile storage units.  Search for them online or at thrift and antique stores.  Some of these can be quite expensive (for example Pottery Barn has one that is priced pretty high), but as long as you keep your eye open you will find one that will suite your budget.

Of the course the mecca for inexpensive and trendy storage is IKEA.  Here are some great storage pieces you can find at your local IKEA store.  Remember, if you like the functionality of the piece but are not crazy about color..paint, scrapbook paper, and wallpaper can go a long way.  Think outside of the box and you can achieve the look you are in search of at a great price...and best of all...you can call it your own.
